As you can see, there’s a lot being planned and many ways for you to get more involved.
Here are a few ways that you can help make this mobilization a success:
1. Sign up to be an organizing center – Can you help bring folks from your area to Charlotte for the March on Wall Street South and other actions taking place around the Democratic National Convention? Let us know today! Also, find or organize an outreach event in your area, and download fliers off our site to help get the word out.
2. Make a donation! Help us open a convergence space in Charlotte! – We’re working with organizations in Charlotte and nationally to open a People’s Collective Energy Convergence Space in Charlotte for the three weeks prior to the DNC. This space will serve many functions, including making banners and other art, holding organizing meetings, plugging folks in as they arrive in Charlotte, and staging other actions in the weeks leading up to and during the DNC. Can you make a donation today and pass this appeal along to help make it happen?
3. Save the date! August 11 Coalition Meeting – The Coalition to March on Wall Street South will be holding a general organizing meeting in Charlotte on Saturday, August 11. There will be lots of important discussion at this meeting about pulling together trainings, plugging volunteers into all the various tasks to help build the march, and much more. The location is still TBA, but we’ll be posting the exact info about this meeting on our site in the days ahead. Email us at info@wallstsouth.org if you’d like to be sent a message when the details are confirmed.
4. Attend weekly local organizing meetings in Charlotte – If you’re in the Charlotte-area, come out to our weekly organizing meetings every Monday at 7pm at the Charlotte Solidarity Center (Suite 10c at Area 15 | 514 E. 15th Street, Charlotte, NC)
5. Spread the word on Facebook, Twitter! – Help us spread the word by liking the Coalition on Facebook, following us on Twitter, and inviting all your friends to the March!
We’ll be sending out and posting up more specific logistical info about the mobilization in the days and weeks ahead. Keep checking our site for updates! We’ve also recently added a housing board the website for folks to coordinate their housing needs during the demonstrations.
