On the Move! Updates, Peoples Assembly, & Occupy Nat Gat this Weekend

With our major victory last month securing permits for the March on Wall Street South and a little over two months to go until all the actions get underway in Charlotte, things are moving a full speed ahead as we build towards September and the DNC!

We’ve made a lot of updates to the site in the last few weeks, so please take a look around at some of the new fliers that are being posted, the route and other information for the march, more ways that you can get involved in the Coalition, and much more. Be on the lookout for more updates in the coming days and weeks.

In addition to the big March on Wall Street South in the works for Sunday, September 2, there’s a lot of other exciting initiatives moving forward for the actions around the DNC. One of those is the Festivaliberación / Liberation Fest, a youth and immigrant led festival being planned for Saturday, September 1. The Festivaliberación will be a space to lift up struggles being led and impacting young people, and will include teach-ins, speak outs, poetry, workshops and a big concert in the afternoon/evening. Look for more updates on this in the next week, and some big announcements about performers coming down the pipeline too!

Organizers with the Coalition to March on Wall Street South are on the move to get the word out about the actions in September!

On June 30, we’ll participate in a major People’s Assembly on Police Abuse, Racism, and Misconduct in Baltimore, MD. This important assembly is being organized by the Justice 4 Trayvon Martin Committee.

From there, we’ll join with Occupies from across the country at the Occupy National Gathering in Philly. Look for our table throughout the week there, and stop by to talk more about the mobilizations around the DNC.

Stay tuned for more updates, and get in touch with us today at info@wallstsouth.org or 704-266-0362 if you want to get involved!
